Creating a gallery wall is a budget friendly way to display affordable Christmas decorations. I’ll show you how to create a gallery wall on a budget and how I decorate it for the holidays.

The Gallery Shelves

I purchased my white picture ledge shelves from IKEA and I absolutely love them. They’re very affordable and are deep enough to hold not just pictures, but vintage tins (Like my vintage Brachs candy tin) and other decor pieces.

The Retro Garland

I create my own garland every season using baker’s twine and mini clothespins. Hanging on the garland are some vintage paper Christmas coasters and retro Santa napkins which I found at Gezillig in downtown Holland, Michigan.

The Framed Christmas Wall Art

I crafted my own Christmas art using vintage holiday advertisements from vintage 1950s Life magazines. I thrifted the gold frames in different sizes and framed very affordable vintage Christmas greeting cards. How to display Christmas records

Vintage Record Wall

Vintage records are SO affordable and you can find really cheaply at thrift stores. I don’t buy them for the music (Except the Frank Sinatra Christmas album which I love) but I focus on the artwork and use them as cheap art.

Adding Decor to Your Gallery Wall

Adding decor pieces can really elevate your gallery wall and prevent it from looking 2D. I love adding vintage thermoses, tins, tinsel packages, and vintage Christmas gift boxes.

None of the decor really “matches” except that there’s a general color scheme of red, green, and pink. That’s the nice thing about having an eclectic gallery wall, you can mismatch your decor and layer it on top of each other and it looks great!
